Mohammed Lachgar is a Moroccan hospitality operator and investor. He is co-founder and managing director of StayHere, the hospitality group he started in Rabat in June 2020 with Mohamed Benzakour, and co-founder of StayCapital (Partner, Growth & Technology), a hospitality real-estate investment platform. StayHere is a Moroccan hospitality company with multiple brands — apart-hotels, boutique hotels and riads — and plans to keep expanding the portfolio. The promise across all of them: the space of a residence with the service of a hotel, for stays from one night to twelve months. As of August 2026 it operates 10 addresses and more than 300 suites across Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir and Essaouira.
StayCapital is where the StayHere founders invest in hotels and apart-hotels, committing their own capital and bringing private investors in alongside them. It was incorporated in late 2023 by Mohamed Benzakour and Mohammed Lachgar with Yacine El Jamali and Hicham Maaninou. Current projects include a four-star lifestyle hotel in central Rabat (78 keys, scheduled for the second half of 2027) and Casablanca Cortina (39 suites, fully funded). Returns are a target, not a guarantee.
