StayCapital is where the StayHere founders invest in hotels and apart-hotels. Incorporated in late December 2023 — with operations built through 2024 — by Mohamed Benzakour and Mohammed Lachgar together with Yacine El Jamali and Hicham Maaninou, it commits the partners’ own capital first and brings private investors in alongside them, underwriting the operation before the building.
The partners
- Mohamed Benzakour — Managing Partner. Co-founder of StayHere; brings the operating and asset-development track record.
- Mohammed Lachgar — Partner, Growth & Technology. Co-founder of StayHere and architect of its digital infrastructure and growth strategy; ensures properties run on modern distribution and operating systems.
- Yacine El Jamali — Partner, Finance & Investments. A decade in real-estate finance, including senior roles at Ernst & Young and in venture capital; leads financial structuring and investor relations.
- Hicham Maaninou — Partner, Strategy & Due Diligence. Ten years in Moroccan real estate, with strategy consulting at Roland Berger and Ernst & Young; oversees sourcing, market analysis and due diligence.
Projects
- A four-star lifestyle hotel, central Rabat — 78 keys, a restaurant, a rooftop and a gym, near the Parliament and Royal quarter. Now raising; scheduled to open in the second half of 2027.
- Casablanca Cortina — an apart-hotel of 39 suites in the Palmier district, an R+5 building with two underground levels. Fully funded.
Investing
The minimum ticket is 1.25M MAD, with a minimum five-year hold (per staycapital.ma).
